Balloonathon 2024
The Betallic Educational Balloonathon was an exciting two-day event in Dallas, Texas, on August 20-21, 2024. Hosted at the Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre. The event focused on balloon education for both enthusiasts and professionals. Your balloon heroes, Jennifer and Abby, attended multiple classes led by top industry balloon artists. Additionally, an instructor panel offered a unique opportunity to learn, network, and be inspired by some of the best in the business!
Special instructors for the Dallas session included Heidy Hernandez, Melissa Vinson & Noeli Remiro.
Heidy Hernandez is the Creative Director and founder of Decor by Heidy! A Miami native specializing in mixed media balloon and event design with over 8 years of experience in the industry.

Melissa Vinson started her own décor business at 21 years old, MelRhea Balloons. Over the years, Melissa has become recognized as a leader in the balloon industry. Her stylish and elegant event designs have been recognized worldwide, and her use of mixed media with balloons has drawn critical acclaim from both industry icons and day to day decorators alike.
Noeli Remiro is the founder of So Pretty Balloons. She has been in the balloon’s world for approximately 15 years.
At the convention, we were able to learn techniques for attaching organic garlands to backdrops, as well as how to make backdrops out of foam board. We also learned enhanced techniques for both classic decor and trendy organics in sculptures.
Additionally, we learned how to make costumes for parades out of balloons to where people can actually be inside of them. In this session we created a monster costume for the upcoming Halloween season.
